Women's Bible Study

2019

Family of Jesus

Karen Kingsbury

Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. and
Wednesdays at 3:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
Education Center Room EC252
This is a 6 week study beginning November 5

Completing our theme this year of “Knowing Jesus”, we will close out the last few weeks of 2019 with a study on the family members of Jesus.

As we enter the Christmas season, we will look at those closest to Jesus, Mary and Joseph, John the Baptist, his cousin, and his parents, Zechariah and Elizabeth.

The final week we will ponder the joy of the season, Emmanuel, God with Us, our Savior, Jesus.

This will be a devotional style of study with some scripture reading and small group discussion via a handout from your facilitator.

There is no workbook for this study, however, if interested, there is a fictional novella by Karen Kingsbury with the same title, The Family of Jesus, that can add to your study.

She describes this study as taking the tent stakes of scripture as our absolute authority, adding the historical and cultural aspects of Jesus’ day, with

the wind of fiction billowing between the tent stakes for a beautiful and imaginative look at this family.

Our desire is to use this study to draw your heart closer to the Savior so you can savor the wonderful season of His birth!

ONLY NEW PARTICIPANTS NEED TO REGISTER.

ALL WHO REGISTERED FOR ARMOR OF GOD ARE IN A GROUP ALREADY

Women's Discipleship

Discipleship Groups

The ultimate goal of our church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Discipleship Groups are mentor-led groups guiding people in the foundational elements of the faith. We use original discipleship materials written by  Pastor Jeff Parish. These groups are a great place for those looking for spiritual accountability and deeper spiritual growth.

If you are interested in taking part in or leading a Discipleship Group, select from the options below. Discipleship Groups meet at different times throughout the week and start at different times throughout the year, so someone will be in touch with you directly to connect you with a group.

If you are interested in more information on future Women's Discipleship classes please email angela_browne@indianrocks.org.

Hearts of Hope Widows Ministry

A ministry of encouragement, comfort and empathy for women who are going through the difficult time following the death of their husband. Through fellowship, friendship and practical assistance, we seek to share the love of God and the hope of Christ. Grief Share, a 13 week Bible study that offers Biblical support through the grief process is available, along with opportunities for friendship and fellowship with other widows, and "hands-on" support of a Deacon family to help the widow walk through the first few months of re-establishing their lives after the loss of their husband.
